Jewell, Kenneth, Dr.
Biography
Kenneth Jewell married his high school sweetheart, Mary, in 1935, and they began their married life in Romeo. In the early 1940s, the Jewells moved to Detroit, where they resided for 22 years. The whole family began attending summers at the National Music Camp at Interlochen in 1949, an association that continued for Mary and Ken until the 1980s. In the summers she became the attendance and scheduling official, a position she held proudly for over 20 summers, while Ken was the Musical Director of Operettas and Musical Theatre. In 1964 the Jewells moved permanently to Interlochen, where they were both employed by the Interlochen Arts Academy.
